WEST BRANDYWINE TWP, PA — Freedom Village at Brandywine raised more than $6,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association through September fundraising activities and an October 9 campus walk, directing community contributions toward Alzheimer’s research and support services.

The senior living community organized a monthlong fundraising campaign involving residents and employees, culminating in its fifth annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Activities included a car wash, food and T-shirt sales, and a 50/50 raffle. Employees also contributed $3 each Friday in September to participate in casual dress days.

Freedom Village established its own campus walk five years ago to accommodate residents with varying mobility levels. The event allows participants to support the Alzheimer’s Association without traveling to an off-site location.

“By hosting our annual walk on campus, we’re also able to ensure that residents of all mobility levels can participate and be part of this important effort,” said Danielle Geyer, executive director of Freedom Village at Brandywine.

The Alzheimer’s Association funds research and provides resources for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers.
