Suspect Sought in Gunfire Case Now Faces New Charges

WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man accused in connection with a shots-fired incident earlier this month is facing multiple firearm, drug, and reckless endangerment charges following his arrest last week, according to city police.

Wilmington Police said members of the Gun Intelligence Unit were investigating a shots-fired incident reported May 21 in the 300 block of North Franklin Street. During the investigation, detectives identified 23-year-old Ta’Seer Tillman as a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant.

According to investigators, officers located Tillman on May 27 in the 1600 block of Wilmington Road and took him into custody without incident.

Police reported recovering a loaded .38 Special revolver during the arrest. Authorities also executed a search warrant in the 1600 block of Wilmington Road and allegedly recovered approximately 4 grams of crack cocaine.

According to Wilmington Police, Tillman was charged with four counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, five counts of first-degree reckless endangering, and criminal mischief involving less than $1,000 in property damage.

Court records show Tillman was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after bail was set at $100,300 cash only.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
