Stolen Vehicle Stop Leads to Drug Arrest in East Lansdowne

EAST LANSDOWNE, PA — A Philadelphia man was taken into custody early Wednesday after police reported locating a stolen vehicle during a patrol in East Lansdowne.

According to the East Lansdowne Police Department, officers were on patrol around 1:21 a.m. April 15 in the 1000 block of Baltimore Avenue when they identified a Buick Envista reported as stolen.

Police said officers conducted a felony vehicle stop and identified the driver as 48-year-old Steven Lemar Marsh, of Philadelphia. According to investigators, Marsh was allegedly operating the vehicle while his driver’s license was suspended.

Authorities reported that after confirming the vehicle was stolen, Marsh was taken into custody. During a search incident to arrest, police said officers allegedly recovered marijuana and a substance suspected to be PCP.

Marsh was charged with receiving stolen property, driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked, and possession of a small amount of marijuana, according to police.

Police reported Marsh was arraigned and committed to George W. Hill Correctional Facility after failing to post 10 percent of $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is pending before District Court 32-2-51.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
