Massive Drug Bust in Wilmington Leads to Shocking Arrest and Seized Firearms

WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man has been charged with multiple felony offenses after a months-long drug investigation conducted by the Delaware State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Delaware Violent Crime and Safe Streets Task Force. The investigation culminated on January 6, 2025, when authorities executed search warrants at properties linked to the suspect.

The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Guy Calloway, allegedly fled on foot during the operation but was apprehended near the Brandywine River following a brief chase. Investigators recovered a range of evidence during their searches, including a Taurus handgun, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and narcotics. The drugs seized included approximately 432 grams of cocaine, 48 grams of crack cocaine, and 234 grams of marijuana. Authorities also located nearly $19,928 in suspected proceeds from drug sales.

Calloway, who is reportedly prohibited from owning firearms due to a prior conviction, now faces numerous charges. These include two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in Tier 3 quantities and two additional counts of possession of controlled substances in Tier 3 quantities. Additional charges include possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Calloway was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and is currently being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $163,000 cash bond.
