HARRISBURG, PA — A Northampton County fugitive was taken into custody earlier this month after investigators located him hiding inside a home in Bethlehem, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.
Authorities identified the suspect as Noel A. Tirado, 41, who was wanted on warrants from Lehigh, Northampton, and Monroe counties for charges including escape, terroristic threats, and simple assault.
According to investigators, agents with the Office of Attorney General were attempting to serve a warrant when they found Tirado allegedly hiding under blankets on a child’s bed inside an acquaintance’s residence.
Police reported Tirado was wearing a gun holster at the time of his arrest. Investigators said a loaded 9mm handgun was also recovered from a dresser drawer in a nearby bedroom.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, Tirado was under investigation for allegedly uploading and manufacturing child sexual abuse material. Investigators reported discovering video recordings and images involving a young child known to the suspect.
Authorities said Tirado has been charged with manufacturing and possession of child sexual abuse material, as well as possession of a prohibited firearm and criminal use of a communication facility.
Police reported Tirado was arraigned and bail was set at $1 million cash.
The case will be prosecuted by the Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section, according to authorities.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
