PHILADELPHIA, PA — Comcast’s Xfinity broadband service ranked first among the nation’s largest internet providers in download speed, video experience and network consistency in the latest U.S. Fixed Broadband Experience Report from Opensignal, strengthening the company’s position in the highly competitive broadband market.
The independent analysis placed Xfinity at the top of three key performance categories among the five largest U.S. internet providers, metrics that measure how networks perform during everyday activities such as streaming video, video conferencing and other data-intensive applications.
The results provide third-party validation for Comcast’s ongoing investment in network infrastructure as broadband providers compete on speed, reliability and customer experience amid growing demand for connected devices and high-bandwidth services.
Opensignal ranked Xfinity first for Consistent Quality, a measure of a network’s ability to reliably support common online activities. The company also earned the top ranking for Download Speed and Video Experience, which evaluates factors such as streaming quality, buffering and video startup performance.
In a separate footprint-based comparison of providers operating in the same markets, Opensignal found Xfinity delivered the most reliable WiFi experience. The recognition marked the second consecutive report in which Xfinity received that distinction.
“These results make clear that Xfinity delivers the best broadband experience nationwide, with the consistent quality and speed customers need,” said Elad Nafshi, Comcast’s executive vice president and chief network officer for connectivity and platforms.
The latest report follows additional recognition for Comcast in Opensignal’s April 2026 U.S. Converged Network Experience report, reflecting the company’s efforts to improve broadband performance across its national footprint.
Broadband providers have increasingly highlighted third-party network testing as competition intensifies among cable, fiber and wireless internet providers seeking to attract and retain customers through speed, reliability and service quality.
