WYOMISSING, PA — From a moonlight swim to a community parade and fireworks display, the Borough of Wyomissing is inviting residents to celebrate both Independence Day and America’s 250th anniversary with several days of family-friendly festivities.
The celebration begins Thursday, July 2, with a Moonlight Swim at the Wyomissing Pool, giving families a chance to cool off under the stars before the holiday weekend kicks into full gear.
On Friday, July 3, the annual fireworks display will light up the skies over the pool beginning at 10 p.m. Residents planning to attend should note that parking restrictions will be in effect beginning at 8 p.m. on Evans Avenue, Parkside Drive North, and Old Mill Road and will remain in place until the conclusion of the fireworks.
The festivities continue on Saturday, July 4, with the beloved Wyomissing Fourth of July Parade, which steps off at 10 a.m. and winds through the borough.
The parade has long been one of Wyomissing’s signature summer traditions, bringing neighbors together to celebrate the nation’s independence and community spirit. Borough officials are encouraging residents to line the streets and join in commemorating America’s Semiquincentennial.
Motorists should be aware that numerous no-parking restrictions will be in place along the parade route beginning at 7 a.m. and lasting until approximately noon, when the parade concludes.
If weather interferes with the celebrations, the fireworks rain date is scheduled for Monday, July 6, while the parade will move to Sunday, July 5, at noon.
