BRYN MAWR, PA — Visiting Angels is targeting more than $1 million in Alzheimer’s Association contributions this year, putting the home-care company on pace for its largest annual fundraising total after generating more than $5.3 million for the organization over the past 15 years.
The Bryn Mawr-based company is participating for a 16th year in the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s, a nationwide fundraising program supporting Alzheimer’s research, care and advocacy.
Visiting Angels franchisees and caregivers raised $448,000 through fundraising efforts in 2025. Founder and CEO Larry Meigs contributed another $500,000, bringing the company’s total for the year to $948,000.
This year’s goal includes another planned $500,000 personal contribution from Meigs, meaning franchisees, employees and other participants would need to generate more than $500,000 for the combined total to exceed $1 million.
“Setting a $1 million-plus goal this year isn’t about the number for its own sake, it’s about matching the urgency our caregivers already bring to this fight,” Meigs said.
Fundraising remains underway, with nearly 1,000 participants registered across 168 teams, according to the company. Visiting Angels also provides donations to the local Alzheimer’s Association chapters associated with its 25 highest-fundraising franchisees.
The company said it has ranked among the top 10 corporate fundraisers for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s for each of the past six years and has been the highest-fundraising brand in the health-care sector.
The campaign is closely tied to Visiting Angels’ core business. Its caregivers work with older adults, including people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, as part of the company’s in-home care services.
“Our caregivers regularly work with people affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, so this is a cause that is very dear to our hearts,” President Scott Parrish said.
More than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, according to figures cited by the company.
Visiting Angels operates a network of more than 600 offices providing nonmedical in-home care to seniors and other adults, including assistance with daily activities, companionship and specialized care.
