Venango Street Work Could Bring Another Week of Frustrating Delays

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Drivers should prepare for daytime traffic restrictions on Venango Street as overhead Interstate 95 bridge construction continues in Northeast Philadelphia.

Periodic lane closures with flagging will restrict traffic on Venango Street throughout the scheduled work hours.

No detour has been announced. Drivers should plan extra time because backups and delays may occur through the work area. Seek alternate routes when practical and remain alert for flaggers, construction crews and changing traffic patterns.

All scheduled activities are weather dependent and may be postponed if conditions are unfavorable.

The restrictions are part of PennDOT’s $311 million I-95/AF3 project, which will reconstruct and widen 1.3 miles of Interstate 95 in both directions between Tioga Street and Wheatsheaf Lane.
