WILMINGTON, DE — Uplynk is adding a managed operations layer around AWS Elemental video infrastructure, targeting streaming providers that want to reduce the engineering work required to deploy and operate live production pipelines.
Uplynk Elemental Orchestration combines AWS Elemental encoding with automated provisioning, content protection, server-side advertising, multi-CDN delivery, analytics and operational support. The service is expected to become generally available in early 2027, with a working proof of concept scheduled for display at IBC 2026.
The product addresses an operational challenge for streaming teams using AWS Elemental: assembling its individual video services into production workflows can require additional orchestration and ongoing management.
Uplynk’s service uses guided configuration to provision pipelines incorporating AWS Elemental MediaConnect, MediaLive and MediaPackage. Customers select parameters including ingest protocol, region, latency preferences, digital-rights-management mode and repackaging format, while Uplynk handles provisioning and pipeline setup.
“AWS Elemental is a proven foundation for high-quality video processing,” Uplynk Vice President of Engineering Shahar Mor said. “Uplynk Elemental Orchestration adds the workflow integration and operational layers around it, enabling streaming teams to deploy production pipelines faster and manage them more consistently at scale.”
Uplynk said the configuration process can make complete AWS Elemental pipelines ready to stream within minutes, reducing the need for customers to build custom orchestration around the underlying services.
Once configured, a single Uplynk manifest URL connects AWS Elemental encoding with Uplynk’s delivery, digital-rights-management, monetization, analytics and operational systems.
The managed service also includes pipeline monitoring, maintenance and support, along with automated failover and permanent ingest endpoints. The latter are intended to give streaming operators stable endpoints for configuring source feeds.
Content-protection and monetization functions include integrated DRM and server-side ad insertion, while multi-CDN delivery connects the pipeline to distribution infrastructure and analytics covering the path from encoding through the viewer experience.
Uplynk is positioning the service as an operational complement to AWS Elemental rather than a replacement for its encoding infrastructure, allowing customers to retain AWS Elemental’s video-processing functions while shifting more pipeline orchestration and management to Uplynk.
