BLUE BELL, PA — Unisys (NYSE: UIS) expanded its technology agreement with Dudley Building Society for another seven years, adding managed mortgage services and private-cloud capabilities as the U.K. lender modernizes the infrastructure supporting its mortgage and savings operations.
The expanded contract extends a relationship spanning more than a decade and will introduce Unisys’ Mortgage-as-a-Service offering while continuing cloud-based services for Dudley’s mortgage and savings products. Unisys will also support upgrades to the building society’s Unisys Financial Services System environment.
The agreement broadens Unisys’ role following Dudley’s investment in a new Mortgage Origination platform. That system modernized the front-end mortgage process used by brokers and members, while the expanded Unisys relationship is focused on the underlying technology and operational services supporting mortgage and savings products.
Dudley, a mutual financial institution operating for more than 160 years, has relied on Unisys for infrastructure management, application support, operational services and regulatory-compliance support during the past decade.
Under the expanded arrangement, Unisys’ Mortgage-as-a-Service model will allow Dudley to modernize existing applications within its current technology environment and potentially shift additional operations to a fully managed Unisys model.
The service also incorporates communication and collaboration tools intended to support development and changes to business processes. The companies are positioning the arrangement as a way to reduce demands on Dudley’s internal IT operations while supporting regulatory requirements and future growth.
“This expanded partnership with Unisys is another important step in that journey, providing a resilient and scalable platform that supports both our mortgage and savings operations,” Lorraine Breeze-Price, Dudley’s chief transformation officer, said.
Sean Tinney, senior vice president and general manager of Enterprise Computing Solutions at Unisys, described the expanded relationship as part of the company’s effort to adapt its financial-services technology offerings as client requirements change.
For Unisys, the seven-year extension deepens its position within a long-standing financial-services account while expanding the relationship from infrastructure, applications and operational support into a broader managed-services model.
