PHILADELPHIA, PA — Uncountable brought together representatives from major manufacturing, materials, food, and consumer-products companies in Philadelphia last month, highlighting growing corporate investment in artificial intelligence tools designed to accelerate research and product development.

The two-day Unify Summit, held May 13-14, drew roughly 100 attendees from industries including chemicals, advanced materials, electronics, agriculture, cosmetics, food and beverage, and consumer packaged goods, according to the company.

The event offered a window into how manufacturers are increasingly adopting digital platforms to manage experimental data, streamline product-development workflows, and apply machine learning to research and development operations.

Representatives from companies including Mondelez International, Suntory Global Spirits, Lubrizol, Rogers Corporation, Indovinya, and Qnity participated in presentations and technical sessions.

Uncountable develops software used by research and development teams to organize formulation, laboratory, and production data across a product’s lifecycle. The platform is designed to help manufacturers connect research results, process parameters, quality controls, and production information in a single system.

Much of the conference agenda focused on operational applications of AI and machine learning, including experiment design, laboratory workflow management, quality systems, reporting tools, and product lifecycle management.

The event also provided customers with an opportunity to influence future product development, according to Uncountable co-founder and Chief Customer Officer Will Tashman.

“The Summit was a valuable opportunity to hear directly from customers, gather feedback on our latest capabilities, and shape a product roadmap that continues to evolve with the needs of different industries,” Tashman said.

Customer presentations reflected the growing role of AI and data management tools in industrial research environments.

Robert Ddamulira, vice president of research and development at Taylor Adhesives, part of Avery Dennison Materials Group, said discussions at the event highlighted common challenges facing research teams across sectors.

“Being part of the Unify Summit and hearing how peers across industries are solving the same challenges reinforced how transformative this technology is,” Ddamulira said.

The conference concluded with presentations outlining Uncountable’s plans to expand its platform’s role across research, quality control, and product lifecycle management functions as manufacturers continue seeking productivity gains through automation and data-driven decision-making.
