MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Drivers in Limerick and Perkiomen townships should prepare for a two-stage traffic disruption on Township Line Road, beginning with daytime lane restrictions Monday, August 17, before a full 24/7 closure and detour starts August 24 for bridge rehabilitation over Lodal Creek.

From Monday, August 17, through Friday, August 21, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on northbound Township Line Road between Graterford Road/Wartman Road and Mayberry Road from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Beginning Monday, August 24, Township Line Road will close completely between Mayberry Road and Graterford Road/Wartman Road. The closure will remain in place around the clock through Sunday, October 25.
Drivers will be directed to use Perkiomen Avenue/Limerick Road, Route 73 (Main Street), Route 29 (First Avenue/Gravel Pike) and Ridge Pike/Main Street to travel around the closure.
Local access will be maintained at all times.
Motorists should expect backups and delays both near the work zone and along the detour route. Plan extra time or seek alternate routes when practical, particularly once the full closure begins.
PennDOT’s contractor will replace the bridge superstructure and install a reinforced concrete deck with new beams, barriers and guiderail. Crews also will mill and overlay the roadway approaches.
The 76-year-old, single-span bridge is 33 feet long and 27 feet wide and carries more than 12,600 vehicles per day.
The work is part of a $16.2 million PennDOT project to rehabilitate 14 bridges in Bucks, Chester, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. Loftus Construction Inc. of King of Prussia is the general contractor, and the project is financed entirely with state funds.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
