The Battle of the Buns: Artesano Kicks Off National Chicken Sandwich Challenge

HORSHAM, PA — Artesano® has launched its Official Chicken Sandwich Challenge, a nationwide quest to find the ultimate chicken sandwich. This exciting competition features eight renowned restaurants, each putting a unique regional spin on the classic chicken sandwich using Artesano Bakery Buns, celebrated for their fluffy texture and rich taste.

The competition adopts a bracket-style format, with restaurants such as Cafe Belen in Los Angeles showcasing The SAMO, a blackened chicken sandwich with jalapenos and avocado, and Delilah’s Everyday Soul in Atlanta offering The ATL, a fried chicken sandwich with pimento cheese and lemon pepper. Other participants include:

  • Hen House Eatery (Minneapolis, MN): The GOAT, a Cajun-seasoned grilled chicken sandwich with BBQ sauce.
  • Manzanita Grill (Bend, OR): The Hot Berry, crispy chicken with berry and honey flavors.
  • River and Woods (Boulder, CO): The Yard Guard, featuring Colorado hot honey and green goddess sauce.
  • Southern Cross Kitchen (Conshohocken, PA): The Conshy Twist, pretzel-crusted fried chicken with pimento cheese.
  • The Hayden (San Antonio, TX): The Wild One, crispy chicken with a stuffed poblano pepper and tomatillo salsa.
  • Wilson County Barbecue (Portland, ME): The Harbor View, citrus-marinated grilled chicken with creamy mayonnaise.

Public voting is open until September 27, with the top four restaurants advancing to the semi-finals. The final showdown will occur from September 23-27, with the winner revealed on November 9, National Chicken Sandwich Day. Voters can win $10,000 by participating.
