OAKS, PA — SEI (NASDAQ: SEIC) said it recently launched SEI Access for CITs, a digital onboarding platform designed to streamline collective investment trust adoption for defined contribution plan stakeholders.
The company said the platform automates onboarding processes for plan sponsors, advisors, recordkeepers, and asset managers, supporting both public and private assets.
SEI said demand for collective investment trusts has increased, with CITs surpassing mutual funds in 2025 to account for more than half of total target-date assets, citing Morningstar data.
The company said existing onboarding processes remain fragmented and paper-based, leading to longer timelines and operational complexity.
SEI Access for CITs includes automated data capture, digital application workflows, and centralized dashboards with real-time updates, according to the company.
The platform also enables the addition of private CIT funds to the SEI Access marketplace.
“CITs are becoming mainstream in retirement plans, but the onboarding experience remains manual and fragmented,” Sean Lawlor, head of public markets for SEI’s investment managers business, said.
SEI said the system is designed to reduce onboarding time and improve collaboration across stakeholders by digitizing key processes.
The platform is part of SEI Access, which the company launched in 2025 following its acquisition of Altigo to expand investment platform capabilities.
