LANCASTER, PA — Lancaster Stormers manager Ross Peeples recorded his 600th career managerial win Tuesday with a 7-4 victory over the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars, becoming the sixth manager in Atlantic League history to reach the mark.
The milestone extends a nine-season tenure in which Peeples has led Lancaster to two Atlantic League championships and five playoff appearances. Seven of his teams have finished at or above .500.
Lancaster has also won at least 70 games in five seasons under Peeples, with the Stormers still positioned to potentially reach that threshold again in 2026.
Peeples has climbed the league’s career managerial wins list during the 2026 season, passing Stan Cliburn, Kevin Baez and Willie Upshaw. Southern Maryland manager Brett Jodie also surpassed 600 victories this season and ranks fifth all-time.
Former York and Hagerstown manager Mark Mason ranks fourth with 648 victories, while longtime Camden manager Wayne Krenchicki is third with 704.
Butch Hobson, Peeples’ predecessor in Lancaster, holds the Atlantic League record with 1,102 managerial victories. Hobson also managed Nashua and Southern Maryland before taking over in Lancaster in 2011.
Peeples’ tenure has also included three players reaching the Major Leagues for the first time: Huascar Brazoban, Connor Overton and Cam Booser.
His history with the Lancaster franchise predates his managerial career. Peeples pitched for the Stormers for 10 seasons and appeared in a franchise-record 374 games, recording 31 wins.
He also threw the first complete-game shutout in franchise history against Newark in August 2005.
After his playing career, Peeples spent two seasons as Lancaster’s bench coach before taking over managerial duties in 2017.
