Reliance Matrix Automates Insurance Review in Benefits Platform

Reliance Matrix

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Reliance Matrix has expanded its integration with Employee Navigator to automate Evidence of Insurability submissions and underwriting decisions, reducing manual work for employers and brokers during employee benefits enrollment.

The new application programming interface allows employees to complete required health and eligibility information without leaving the Employee Navigator enrollment platform. Underwriting decisions are then transmitted automatically back into the system.

Evidence of Insurability is commonly required when an employee requests certain levels of life or disability insurance coverage. The review process can create delays when forms, decisions and enrollment records must be handled across separate systems.

Reliance Matrix indicated the integration will reduce follow-up by human resources and benefits administrators while giving employers, brokers and employees greater visibility into the status of pending reviews.

The capability adds to an existing Employee Navigator connection that supports automated billing, eligibility verification and data exchange.

Paula Hanson, assistant vice president of benefit technology solutions at Reliance Matrix, characterized the update as an effort to remove administrative steps from the enrollment process.

“By automating manual processes and reducing administrative burden, we’re helping employers and brokers spend less time managing transactions and more time supporting their employees,” Hanson stated.

The system uses a secure platform-to-platform connection to transmit Evidence of Insurability information and return underwriting outcomes. Employees can remain within the same enrollment workflow throughout the process.

Employee Navigator Chief Executive Officer George Reese described the automated return of decisions as a practical improvement that reduces work for human resources teams.

“Adding this feature to our EOI integration with Reliance Matrix makes enrollment more seamless for employees and reduces manual work for HR teams,” Reese stated.

The companies did not provide adoption figures or identify employers currently using the expanded integration.
