PHILADELPHIA, PA — Datavault AI Inc. (NASDAQ: DVLT) signed a definitive agreement to acquire BankWyse, a Wyoming-chartered financial institution, in a transaction that would add custody and banking capabilities to the company’s digital-asset and tokenization platform if regulators approve the deal.
The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions, Datavault reported. Financial terms were not disclosed.
BankWyse operates under a Special Purpose Depository Institution charter issued by Wyoming, a regulatory structure designed for institutions handling digital assets. Datavault expects the business to provide custody, commercial banking and related services within its broader platform.
The transaction would extend Datavault’s strategy of controlling more of the infrastructure involved in converting data and real-world assets into digital tokens and facilitating transactions involving those assets.
Under the model outlined by the company, customers would provide data or real-world assets that could be valued and tokenized through Datavault’s technology, placed in custody and subsequently offered for trading through its exchanges.
Adding BankWyse would allow Datavault to incorporate banking and custodial services into that process rather than relying solely on external financial infrastructure.
The company characterized the acquisition as the remaining component needed for an end-to-end data monetization ecosystem spanning asset valuation, tokenization, custody, exchange and banking services.
That strategy reflects Datavault’s broader effort to vertically integrate infrastructure supporting digital and real-world asset markets, including AI-based valuation technology and exchange capabilities.
Completion of the BankWyse transaction remains contingent on regulatory review. Datavault did not provide an expected closing date.
