LANSDALE, PA — A 45-year-old man was hospitalized early Tuesday after suffering what Lansdale Borough police determined was an accidentally self-inflicted gunshot wound on Susquehanna Avenue.
Police reported that officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Susquehanna Avenue at approximately 2:20 a.m. Sept. 1 following a report of a gunshot.
Upon arrival, officers found a 45-year-old man lying in a grassy area with a gunshot wound to the groin, according to police. VMSC personnel treated him at the scene.
Investigators determined that the man had been with another person when the shooting occurred. Police allege the firearm discharged accidentally as the man was attempting to secure it in his pants.
The man was transported to Grand View Hospital for treatment of injuries police described as non-life-threatening.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
