Quaint Oak Expands Library Funding Through Centennial Initiative

Quaint Oak Bank

SOUTHAMPTON, PA — Quaint Oak Bank is expanding financial support for public libraries in eastern Pennsylvania through a series of community partnerships aimed at strengthening educational programming, environmental initiatives, and public access to shared resources.

The effort includes support for the Bethlehem Area Public Library, Southampton Free Library, and Lititz Public Library, with funding and materials tailored to each institution’s programming needs.

The initiative is part of the bank’s centennial-year community investment strategy and reflects the continuing role financial institutions play in supporting local educational and civic organizations.

Rather than providing identical grants, the bank worked with individual libraries to identify specific projects and resource gaps.

At Lititz Public Library, support focused on expanding a seed library program through the provision of seed collections featuring Pennsylvania wildflowers and vegetables, along with a card catalog cabinet intended to house and organize the collection.

“We’re excited to offer our seed library to build a culture of self-reliance and sharing and to provide education for gardeners at all levels of expertise,” Youth Services Coordinator Shannon Richard said.

The Bethlehem Area Public Library received funding for an environmental education initiative that includes a guided hike conducted in partnership with the Black River Conservancy, as well as journals and art supplies intended to support related programming.

At Southampton Free Library, funding was directed toward the installation of raised garden beds designed to expand community education activities connected to the library’s existing seed-sharing program.

Josh Berk of the Bethlehem Area Public Library said the funding will support hands-on learning opportunities focused on gardening, environmental education, and healthy living.

Community banks frequently use charitable giving and sponsorship programs to strengthen local relationships and support nonprofit organizations, libraries, schools, and civic groups within their service areas.

Quaint Oak indicated that the library partnerships align with broader goals that include expanding access to educational resources, supporting community-based programming, encouraging sustainability initiatives, and fostering long-term community engagement.

The bank did not disclose the total amount committed to the library partnership initiative.
