COATESVILLE, PA — Free food, live music, inflatables, children’s activities, and a major community funding announcement will bring families and neighbors together when The Alliance for Health Equity hosts its annual block party at the Brandywine Center.
The free celebration will take place Saturday, Aug. 1, along Chester Avenue outside the center at 744 East Lincoln Highway. Designed for the entire 19320 community, the afternoon will mark two milestones: The Alliance for Health Equity’s 25th anniversary and Union Community Care’s first year at the Brandywine Center.
“Our community block party is one of my favorite days of the year,” AHE Integrated Health Director Moira Gassenmeyer said. “There’s something special about seeing neighbors, families and community partners come together to celebrate, connect and just enjoy being together.”
Guests can enjoy complimentary food and refreshments, including Richie’s Water Ice, while DJ Dre Money provides music throughout the event. Children and families will also find a dedicated Kid Zone and large inflatables, including a Velcro wall and Ninja Warrior course.
A nonprofit resource fair will give residents an opportunity to meet organizations serving the Greater Coatesville area and learn about programs available to local families.
The celebration also recognizes Union Community Care, a Federally Qualified Health Center offering comprehensive primary and dental care at the Brandywine Center.
“It’s a great reminder that building a healthier, stronger community starts with building relationships,” Gassenmeyer said.
New Investments in Coatesville Organizations
During the block party, The Alliance for Health Equity will announce the 16 organizations selected to receive support through its 2026 Seed-And-Scale Match Fund.
The initiative will provide $350,000 in initial funding to nonprofit organizations working in and around Coatesville. The selected groups are advancing efforts related to:
- Access to healthcare
- Education
- Employment opportunities
- Neighborhood connections
- Built environments
- Social and community conditions
The announcement will spotlight organizations investing in the community while giving residents a closer look at projects intended to improve health and quality of life across Greater Coatesville.
