Qnity Expands Flexible Circuit Materials for Compact Electronics

Qnity Electronics

WILMINGTON, DE — Qnity Electronics Inc. (NYSE: Q) has introduced a portfolio of ultra-thin flexible circuit materials designed to support smaller, more complex consumer electronics, positioning the Wilmington-based company to supply components used in smartphones, artificial intelligence glasses and augmented- and virtual-reality devices.

The materials are intended to help electronics manufacturers accommodate increasingly dense circuitry while maintaining flexibility, mechanical durability and signal performance as devices become thinner and lighter.

Qnity’s Advanced Flex Technologies portfolio builds on its Kapton polyimide films and Pyralux flexible laminates, materials used in electronic interconnect applications where conventional rigid circuitry may not meet design requirements.

Flexible circuits allow electrical connections to bend or conform to compact device structures, making them relevant to products with limited internal space or components that must withstand repeated movement.

The company said its new materials are engineered to address requirements involving optical performance, signal integrity and mechanical reliability.

Those characteristics are becoming increasingly important as manufacturers integrate additional computing, sensing and connectivity functions into smaller devices, including products that process AI workloads locally.

The introduction extends Qnity’s materials offerings into applications where circuit thickness and flexibility can influence product architecture and component placement.

Chuck Xu, president of Qnity’s Interconnect Solutions business, emphasized the company’s involvement in customers’ early product-development work.

“Through continuous innovation, we earn a seat at our customers’ design table, where we work closely with customers early in the development process,” Xu said.

The portfolio targets advanced interconnect applications across consumer electronics, including emerging wearable devices that require compact circuitry capable of operating within complex physical designs.

Qnity operates across the semiconductor supply chain, supplying materials and technology solutions used in electronic manufacturing.
