PKF O’Connor Davies Adds Tax Partner to Expand Transaction Practice

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — PKF O’Connor Davies has hired Thomas R. Lemon as a partner in its Commercial Tax practice, adding a tax adviser with nearly 20 years of experience in private equity, partnership taxation and mergers and acquisitions as accounting firms continue to compete for specialized advisory talent.

Lemon, who will be based in the firm’s Newtown Square office, advises private equity firms, partnerships, corporations and high-net-worth individuals on complex tax matters. His background includes ASC 740, Subchapter K, partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, tax risk management and business development.

The appointment expands the firm’s commercial tax capabilities in areas that have become increasingly important as transaction activity and regulatory complexity drive demand for specialized tax advisory services.

Before joining PKF O’Connor Davies, Lemon led a partnership tax consulting practice, advising clients on the tax implications of mergers and acquisitions, including ASC 805 purchase accounting. He also provided tax guidance on matters involving Section 83(b) elections, divorce-related tax issues, receiverships and representations and warranties insurance claims.

Earlier in his career, Lemon held leadership roles at a private equity firm and a national accounting firm, where he advised clients on partnership taxation and transaction-related matters while leading tax consulting teams. He also served as Northeast leader of a Partnership Capital Account Maintenance specialty practice.

Lemon earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting, summa cum laude, from Cabrini College. He is a Pennsylvania certified public accountant and a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
