PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia Theatre Company announced its 2026-27 season, featuring three mainstage productions and a family-focused performance, as the organization builds on momentum from its current season.

The 52nd season will include the Philadelphia premieres of Liberation by Bess Wohl and Purpose by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, a reimagined solo production of Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie starring BD Wong, and a staged musical adaptation of The Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System.

The upcoming season follows a 2025-26 lineup that included the Pulitzer Prize-winning Primary Trust, a contemporary adaptation of Caesar, and the world premiere of James Ijames’ Wilderness Generation, which continues its run.

Co-Artistic Director Tyler Dobrowsky said the season centers on intergenerational themes.

“These plays explore family, inheritance, and identity, and they’re also invitations to come together and experience something as a community,” Dobrowsky said.

The season opens with Liberation, running October 9 through October 25, 2026, followed by Purpose from February 5 through February 25, 2027.

The Glass Menagerie will close the season from April 9 through May 2, 2027, presented as a solo performance with Wong portraying multiple characters.

The company will also present The Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System on December 4 and December 5, 2026, targeting families and school audiences.
