PHILADELPHIA, PA — Drivers traveling on southbound Interstate 95 Monday night should prepare for delays as PennDOT crews pave a section of the highway in Northeast Philadelphia. Plan extra time and expect slower traffic through the overnight work zone.

- Roads Affected: Southbound I-95
- Dates: Monday, July 20
- Times: 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. the following morning
- Reason: Asphalt paving
A left lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Cottman Avenue and Betsy Ross Bridge interchanges during overnight paving operations.
No detour has been announced. The highway will remain open, but motorists should expect congestion approaching the work zone, reduce speed and merge well in advance of the lane closure. Seek alternate routes if possible.
The paving is part of PennDOT’s ongoing I-95/BS2 project, which is reconstructing I-95 in both directions between Margaret Street and Carver Street.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and may be postponed or rescheduled.
