RADNOR, PA — McNees Wallace & Nurick has added attorney Connor Thomson to its Real Estate Group in Radnor, bolstering the firm’s capabilities in planned community and condominium law as demand for residential development and community governance services continues across the region.
Thomson will advise developers, residential builders and community associations on governing documents, statutory compliance and community development projects, the firm announced. His practice includes work involving age-restricted communities, traditional neighborhood developments and master-planned association communities.
The hire expands McNees’ real estate team at a time when developers face increasingly complex regulatory and operational requirements governing residential communities after construction is complete.
“Connor brings a valuable perspective that fits well with the work we do for developers and builders,” said Esch McCombie, co-chair of McNees’ Real Estate Group. “He understands how planned communities and condominiums operate after development, which helps clients think ahead and plan for long-term community administration.”
Before joining McNees, Thomson served as an associate at a Philadelphia-area law firm, where he provided general counsel services to hundreds of community associations.
Thomson said his experience advising associations gives him insight into how governance decisions made during development can affect communities long after construction concludes.
“When the development phase of a residential community is over, that’s when it truly becomes a community,” Thomson said. “All communities require careful planning and strong governance structures to be successful.”
Thomson earned a law degree from the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, an MBA from Western Governors University and a bachelor’s degree from Saint Joseph’s University.
