WILMINGTON, DE — Maverick Medical AI has introduced a foundation model designed to automate hospital revenue-cycle work from physician documentation through billing-ready coding, expanding its technology beyond individual coding tasks to address compliance and potential claim denials before submission to payers.

The Clinical-to-Revenue Foundation Model powers workflows spanning physician documentation, coding, compliance, medical necessity and denial prevention. Maverick is positioning the architecture as a single intelligence layer rather than using separate AI models for individual revenue-cycle functions or medical specialties.

The system includes CodeAgent, which engages physicians while documentation is being prepared to identify missing information, coding opportunities, compliance issues, medical-necessity gaps, modifier errors, MIPS requirements and payer-specific risks.

Maverick’s mCoder then uses clinical context established at the point of care to generate coding decisions. Additional AI agents check payer policies, coding compliance, reimbursement rules and organizational workflows before claims are submitted.

The company said its technology is operating in enterprise health care environments and is producing direct-to-bill performance above 85% with automation coverage across all cases. Those performance figures were provided by Maverick.

The architecture is designed to apply common revenue-cycle intelligence while adapting to clinical and coding requirements within individual specialties. Maverick identified radiology, cardiology, orthopedics, emergency medicine and pathology among the areas where the model can be deployed.

That approach is intended to let the company extend the same underlying platform across specialties rather than develop an isolated AI model for each clinical discipline.

Maverick is targeting revenue leakage that can arise before a claim reaches a payer, shifting intervention earlier in the billing process instead of relying solely on corrections after documentation and coding problems have entered the revenue cycle.
