InterDigital’s Starsinic Elected Vice Chair of 3GPP SA2 Group

WILMINGTON, DE — InterDigital, Inc. (Nasdaq: IDCC) announced that Michael Starsinic has been elected vice chair of the 3GPP SA2 working group, which defines system architecture for mobile networks.

The SA2 group establishes how user devices, access networks, and core networks interact across 5G-Advanced and emerging 6G systems.

In his role, Starsinic will help guide technical discussions, facilitate consensus among member companies, and support the development of system architecture specifications, the company said.

Starsinic is a senior director at InterDigital’s Wireless Lab and has more than 25 years of experience in telecommunications, including work in modem development, system architecture, and standards development.

He has served as an SA2 delegate for about a decade, contributing to topics including internet of things communications, quality of service, edge computing, network slicing, and extended reality.

“Michael has been a regular SA2 delegate for the past decade, contributing to drafting sessions and technical discussions,” said Rajesh Pankaj, InterDigital’s chief technology officer.

InterDigital conducts research and development in wireless, video, and artificial intelligence technologies.
