Intel 471 Adds Threat Detection Tool to Speed Breach Checks

WILMINGTON, DE — Intel 471 recently launched a new threat detection capability designed to help security teams determine whether newly disclosed cyber threats have already affected their networks without requiring manual query building across multiple security tools.

The company said its new Retroactive Threat Detections feature, available through the Verity471 platform, automatically converts threat intelligence indicators into executable detection queries compatible with major endpoint detection and response and security information and event management platforms.

The release targets a longstanding operational challenge for corporate cybersecurity teams following disclosure of new malware campaigns or threat actor activity: determining whether systems were previously compromised.

Historically, that process has required analysts to manually extract indicators of compromise, create platform-specific searches and review historical logs across multiple systems, often consuming significant time during active incidents.

Brandon Hoffman said the platform is intended to reduce the time between threat disclosure and confirmation of potential exposure.

The company said the capability allows organizations to conduct retrospective searches for indicators tied to emerging threats, escalate active investigations or initiate broader threat hunting operations.

Intel 471 stated the queries are generated using the company’s proprietary adversary intelligence data rather than standard commercial threat feeds.

Michael DeBolt said customers are increasingly seeking intelligence products that can be directly integrated into defensive workflows instead of standalone reporting tools.

The Retroactive Threat Detections capability is available exclusively to Verity471 customers, according to the company.

The launch follows Intel 471’s recent introduction of its Cyber Threat Exposure Bundle, which combines attack surface monitoring, third-party exposure analysis and brand exposure tracking into a single offering.
