NEW CASTLE, DE — IgniteData has partnered with RealTime eClinical Solutions to expand distribution of its clinical trial data automation platform across a global network of more than 3,000 research sites, targeting the administrative costs and delays associated with transferring patient data between research systems.
The agreement will give research sites using RealTime’s electronic source data platform access to IgniteData’s Archer technology, allowing clinical information to move directly into trial sponsors’ electronic data capture systems or other designated destinations.
The integration is intended to eliminate duplicate data entry, a recurring operational burden for research sites that collect patient information electronically but must transfer it into separate systems maintained by pharmaceutical companies and other trial sponsors.
RealTime supports more than 3,000 clinical research sites across more than 30 countries. Its Site Operations Management System is used by nine of the 10 largest research site networks, three of the five largest contract research organizations and three major hospitals, according to the companies.
The partnership gives IgniteData an additional distribution channel for Archer through RealTime’s existing customer relationships, potentially extending the platform’s use across clinical research organizations, academic medical centers and health systems.
IgniteData said its technology is already used at 80% of National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers, including 19 of the 30 highest-ranked U.S. cancer centers. Its international network spans four continents and six countries.
Archer is designed to transfer different types of clinical data between research platforms without requiring sites to adopt a single data collection system.
By connecting RealTime’s electronic source records directly with sponsor systems, the companies aim to reduce manual transcription, data reconciliation and monitoring workloads.
“Our sites capture data once, electronically, at the source,” said Jeff Kozloff, chief executive officer of RealTime eClinical Solutions. “They shouldn’t have to re-enter it into every sponsor’s EDC.”
The companies expect the integration to allow research coordinators to spend less time transferring records and resolving data discrepancies, potentially reducing administrative expenses and shortening clinical trial timelines.
For pharmaceutical sponsors and contract research organizations, faster data transfers could also improve access to study information during clinical development. Those benefits remain anticipated operational outcomes rather than demonstrated results of the new partnership.
Laura Hilty, IgniteData’s chief strategy officer, said the agreement expands the company’s relationships with established clinical research software providers and supports its efforts to reduce the administrative demands placed on research sites.
The arrangement connects IgniteData’s data transfer technology with RealTime’s existing research operations software, extending the companies’ ability to serve clinical trials without requiring participating sites to replace their current electronic source data systems.
