HHM Hotels Adds 11 Properties in Wurzak Management Deal

PHILADELPHIA, PA — HHM Hotels is adding 11 properties managed by Wurzak Hotel Group to its portfolio, expanding the Philadelphia-based hotel operator’s scale in South Florida and the Mid-Atlantic without changing ownership of the properties.

The transaction integrates Wurzak’s managed portfolio into HHM’s operating platform, giving the company additional premium-branded, full-service and lifestyle hotels.

The properties include The Dalmar in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Moxy St. Petersburg Downtown; and Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue. The release did not identify the other eight hotels joining HHM’s portfolio.

The deal increases HHM’s concentration in two regions where both companies have established operations: Greater Philadelphia and South Florida. Wurzak will retain ownership interests where applicable, with the transaction limited to hotel management.

HHM Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer Shawn Tuli framed the combination as an opportunity to use the company’s existing regional infrastructure across the newly added properties.

“Bringing these exceptional hotels and teams into our system allows us to leverage our regional scale while continuing our growth strategy,” Tuli stated.

The companies also have longstanding business ties. Howard Wurzak, chairman and CEO of Wurzak Hotel Group, described the relationship with HHM as one built over more than three decades.

Jake Wurzak, Wurzak’s co-CEO, pointed to HHM’s larger operating infrastructure and technology as benefits of the transition, along with expanded advancement opportunities for employees moving into the broader organization.

The integration also brings Wurzak’s operational, commercial and finance leadership into HHM, according to HHM President and CEO Naveen P. Kakarla.

HHM has been expanding its management portfolio in the U.S. and Canada through agreements with hotel owners. The addition of the Wurzak properties extends that strategy while adding scale in two of the operator’s existing markets.
