The overnight paving is expected to substantially complete the $14.6 million intersection improvement project. Motorists traveling near the work area or along the detour routes should allow extra time because backups and delays may occur.
The project is adding through lanes on both approaches of Route 463 and on southbound Route 309. The widening will increase the number of travel lanes approaching the intersection from 15 to 18 to improve traffic flow and reduce crashes.
Additional work includes upgraded and retimed traffic signals, sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, guiderail, stormwater drainage, signs and pavement markings. Crews are also adjusting driveway access and completing erosion-control improvements.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and may be postponed or rescheduled.
