WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington police reported arresting two men Sept. 1 following an investigation into alleged drug sales in the 100 block of North Franklin Street.
Police reported that members of the Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division had been investigating 25-year-old Zaiair Jenkins-Johnson and 32-year-old Corey Brittingham in connection with alleged illegal drug sales in the area.
At approximately 12:07 p.m. Sept. 1, officers made contact with Jenkins-Johnson and Brittingham in the 100 block of North Franklin Street and took both men into custody without incident, according to police.
Police subsequently executed a search warrant in the same block and allegedly recovered 45.3 grams of crack cocaine, ammunition, a ballistic vest and $2,824 in U.S. currency.
Jenkins-Johnson was charged with Tier 3 possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, Tier 3 possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police. He was arraigned in New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
Brittingham was charged with Tier 3 possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and Tier 3 possession of a controlled substance, according to police. He was arraigned in New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and released after posting $60,000 secured bail.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
