BLUE BELL, PA — EyePromise has entered the artificial tear market with the launch of Heyedrate Clinical, expanding its product lineup beyond nutritional supplements and eyelid hygiene products as demand for dry eye treatments continues to grow.
The new product is a preservative-free artificial tear designed to provide temporary relief from dry eye symptoms, a condition associated with factors including aging, contact lens use, environmental conditions, and increased screen time.
The launch broadens EyePromise’s position in the eye health category by adding a topical treatment to a portfolio that already includes nutritional supplements and eyelid cleansing products marketed toward dry eye sufferers.
According to the company, Heyedrate Clinical contains povidone and Hylan A, a form of hyaluronic acid intended to enhance moisture retention and lubrication on the eye’s surface.
Dr. Kimberly Friedman, EyePromise’s chief medical education officer, said the technology has been used in Europe for more than a decade.
“Patients can finally experience the kind of intensive, long-lasting hydration that feels more like their own natural tears,” Friedman said.
The company cited clinical data showing users reduced daily eye drop use by 27% and reported improvements in comfort and visual clarity. The release did not provide details regarding study size, methodology, or publication status.
Dry eye affects millions of Americans and has become an increasingly competitive market for pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, and consumer eye-care brands seeking to address symptoms that can range from irritation and blurred vision to chronic discomfort.
Thu Bang, head of marketing at EyePromise, said the new product is intended to complement the company’s existing eye health offerings.
The launch positions EyePromise to compete more directly in the over-the-counter artificial tear segment while expanding its broader approach to dry eye management.
