PHILADELPHIA, PA — Evil Genius Beer Company is bringing plenty of holiday excitement to Fishtown this December, combining unique beer releases with family-friendly events and festive fun for everyone. Their popular holiday brew, “Santa! I Know Him!” Festive Saison, is back on tap, and the month is packed with celebrations at their taproom, located at 1727 N. Front Street.
The festivities kick off on Thursday, December 5th, with Evil Genius’ annual Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A 12-foot tree will light up the taproom at 7:30 p.m., serving as the centerpiece for a lively night. Guests can enjoy live music by Mike Lally, sip seasonally inspired brews like “Santa! I Know Him!”, a 7.2% ABV saison brewed with rose hips, chamomile, and black currants, and Naughty or Nice, a 10.5% ABV winter warmer ale with seasonal spices. The six-packs of “Santa! I Know Him!” will be available for $11.99 for those looking to spread holiday cheer at home.
On Saturday, December 7th, it’s time to lace up your sneakers—briefly—for the Santa 0.5k, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Participants will walk or jog just one lap around the block to support families in need during the holiday season. All proceeds from the ticketed event will go toward gifts for local families, and runners will receive a Santa hat and a complimentary beer at the finish line. Those who cannot attend can still contribute by purchasing virtual tickets.
Santa returns to Evil Genius on Saturday, December 14th, for the Santa Comes To Evil Genius event. From 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., families and their four-legged friends can meet and take photos with Santa in the beer garden. The day will feature plenty of activities for children, including face painting and coloring stations, making it a fun outing for all ages.
Rounding out the month are two drag brunches that mix holiday magic with pure entertainment. The first is the Nightmare Before Christmas Drag Brunch on Sunday, December 15th, running from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This spooky-meets-festive display channels Tim Burton’s iconic film with performances by drag queens bringing the beloved characters to life. Then, on Sunday, December 29th, the Drag Me to 2025 New Year’s Drag Brunch brings glitz and glamour to bid farewell to the year with performances set to the biggest hits of 2024. Both brunches begin with doors at 11 a.m., followed by the shows at 12 p.m. Tickets for these events are available online.
