GLEN MILLS, PA — Encompass Health (NYSE: EHC) has opened a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Concord Township, expanding rehabilitation care capacity in Delaware County as demand for post-acute neurological and orthopedic treatment continues to grow.
The new Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Concordville is now accepting patients recovering from strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic conditions.
The more than 66,000-square-foot facility includes private patient rooms, therapy gyms, dialysis services, pharmacy operations, and rehabilitation spaces designed to simulate activities of daily living.
Patients at the hospital will receive at least three hours of physical, occupational, or speech therapy five days per week, along with physician oversight and around-the-clock nursing care, according to the company.
Mat Gooch stated the facility is intended to expand access to inpatient rehabilitation services within the region.
“Our dedicated team of clinicians looks forward to making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives through personalized rehabilitation that improves both function and quality of life,” Gooch said in a statement.
The Concordville facility marks Encompass Health’s 10th hospital in Pennsylvania.
The company also indicated it plans to open another rehabilitation hospital in Lower Providence later this year.
Encompass Health operates 175 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals across 39 states and Puerto Rico.
