Eastbound Route 73 Closing for Utility Work in Whitpain Twp

WHITPAIN TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that eastbound Route 73 (Skippack Pike) will close beginning Thursday, September 18, for pipe maintenance by Texas Eastern Transmission.

The closure, expected to last through Friday, October 24, will be in place 24/7 at the Narcissa Road intersection. Passenger vehicles will follow a detour using Penllyn Blue Pike, Morris Road, and Butler Pike, while trucks will be directed to U.S. 202, Route 63 (Welsh Road), and Route 309. Westbound Route 73 will remain open, and local access will be maintained.

PennDOT advises motorists to allow extra travel time, as delays and backups are expected. All activities are weather dependent.
