HORSHAM, PA — C&D Technologies received Gold honoree status in the 2026 ISE Network Innovators’ Awards for its MSE Pure Lead Technology, recognition that comes as telecommunications operators face increasing backup-power demands from network expansion, artificial intelligence and edge-computing infrastructure.
The Horsham-based company’s technology underpins its Pure Lead battery portfolio, including the TEL High Temperature, Pure Lead Max and msEndurII product lines. The batteries are designed for telecommunications and other critical backup-power applications.
The ISE Network Innovators’ Awards are judged by a panel of telecommunications industry experts and recognize products, projects, technologies and programs serving communications networks and related infrastructure.
C&D markets MSE Pure Lead Technology as an alternative to conventional valve-regulated lead-acid, or VRLA, batteries, with an emphasis on service life and performance in higher-temperature operating environments. The company also says the technology can lower total ownership costs compared with conventional VRLA batteries.
The recognition gives C&D additional industry validation as telecom networks contend with growing power requirements and the need to maintain service during grid disruptions or other outages.
“As AI, edge computing and network expansion continue to drive power requirements, our Pure Lead technology provides the performance, reliability and operational efficiencies our customers depend on,” Bob Malley, C&D’s vice president of portfolio strategy, stated.
The award covers technology used across several of C&D’s battery products rather than a single newly introduced product.
ISE Magazine Editor Hayden Beeson described the awards as a competitive program intended to identify technologies and projects with significant industry impact.
For C&D, the award reinforces its positioning in the telecommunications backup-power market, where battery longevity, operating temperature and maintenance costs can affect the economics and reliability of network infrastructure.
