PHILADELPHIA, PA — Bank of America will hold nine free fraud-prevention seminars across Greater Philadelphia beginning Sept. 23, giving consumers and businesses guidance on identifying scams, including AI impersonation schemes and identity theft, as financial fraud tactics become more sophisticated.
The events, called “Scaminars,” are open to Bank of America clients and the public. Sessions are scheduled in Philadelphia, Springfield, Broomall, Media, Wilmington, Horsham, Kennett Square, Paoli and Royersford through Oct. 20.
The seminars will examine common fraud tactics and warning signs, emerging schemes targeting individuals, families and businesses, and measures financial institutions use to protect customers.
Attendees will also receive information about fraud-prevention tools and practices, along with steps to take and resources to contact after a suspected scam.
Bank of America is holding the sessions around Financial Planning Month in October, positioning fraud prevention alongside broader efforts by consumers to review and protect their finances.
The first sessions are scheduled for Sept. 23 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Philadelphia Financial Center, 8601 Germantown Ave., and from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 695 Baltimore Pike in Springfield.
On Sept. 28, sessions will run from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at 1980 Sproul Road in Broomall and from 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 101 W. Baltimore Ave. in Media.
The Wilmington session is scheduled for Sept. 29 from 5:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 2074 Limestone Road.
Two additional sessions are planned for Sept. 30: from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. at 100 Welsh Road, Unit N, in Horsham, and from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 807 E. Baltimore Pike in Kennett Square.
Bank of America will hold a Paoli session Oct. 2 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at 15 Leopard Road. The final listed event is scheduled for Oct. 20 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 1833 E. Ridge Pike in Royersford.
