Avantor Expands North American Quality Control Capabilities

Avantor

RADNOR, PA — Avantor, Inc. (NYSE: AVTR) said it expanded its North American quality control capabilities by adding microbial and stability testing at its St. Louis manufacturing site to support U.S.-based biopharma production.

The company said the expansion brings testing capabilities previously handled by third-party laboratories and its global network closer to domestic manufacturing operations.

The St. Louis facility now provides microbial testing aligned with Good Manufacturing Practice standards and stability testing compliant with International Council for Harmonisation guidelines, according to Avantor.

The company said the site can support more than 2,000 microbial samples annually within its internal network.

By consolidating testing in one location, Avantor said it aims to reduce reliance on external labs, limit cross-border sample movement, and improve turnaround times and data visibility.

“Expanding our quality control capabilities in North America strengthens our manufacturing and supply chain infrastructure and will help us deliver our high-quality chemicals and other products to customers faster,” Chief Operating Officer Mary Blenn said.

The facility includes audit-ready laboratory space and stability storage designed for materials such as active pharmaceutical ingredients and excipients, the company said.
