PHILADELPHIA, PA — Aramark employees participated in a global day of service on Thursday, April 16, supporting more than 100 community organizations across the United States and 12 other countries, the company announced.
The annual event, known as Aramark Building Community Day, involved thousands of employees working on projects including neighborhood revitalization, landscaping, and assembling meal and hygiene kits.
Volunteers participated in activities across Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, Spain, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
“Each year, ABC Day demonstrates the power of uniting our global workforce around a single, meaningful purpose: service,” said CEO John Zillmer.
In the United States, four cities were designated as primary project sites: Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., and Kansas City, Missouri.
In Philadelphia, about 250 volunteers worked on projects tied to preparations for the nation’s 250th anniversary, including improvements in the Point Breeze neighborhood and West Philadelphia.
In Las Vegas, volunteers completed landscaping and facility upgrades at Opportunity Village, while in Washington, D.C., teams renovated spaces and assembled food kits at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington.
In Kansas City, volunteers supported Nourish KC through construction, planting, and assembling hygiene and snack kits.
Internationally, projects included meal preparation, community cleanups, and facility improvements, with activities ranging from supporting food distribution efforts in Canada to preparing meals and revitalizing playgrounds in Chile.
“Service is how we show up for our communities—not just in the work we do every day, but in the time and care our people give back,” said Debbie Albert, senior vice president of corporate affairs.
