DOUGLASSVILLE, PA — Karen Norheim, chief executive officer of American Crane & Equipment Corporation, has been named a 2026 Greater Philadelphia winner in Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur Of The Year program, advancing to the national competition later this year.
The recognition places Norheim among a group of regional business leaders selected by an independent panel of judges from Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware.
The award comes as American Crane continues to expand its presence in specialized industrial manufacturing markets, including nuclear energy, aerospace, defense, and other sectors that rely on custom lifting and material-handling systems.
EY’s Entrepreneur Of The Year program evaluates executives on business growth, leadership, long-term value creation, and organizational impact.
Regional winners become eligible for consideration in the national Entrepreneur Of The Year competition scheduled for November. The national winner will go on to represent the United States at the World Entrepreneur Of The Year competition in 2027.
American Crane, headquartered in Douglassville, designs and manufactures custom lifting equipment and engineered material-handling solutions for industrial and government customers.
Norheim attributed the recognition to the company’s workforce and its focus on solving complex engineering challenges.
“The work we do is challenging, highly specialized, and innovative,” Norheim stated. “Our success comes from working closely with our customers, solving complex problems, and taking pride in delivering solutions that make a difference.”
An independent judging panel composed of previous award recipients, CEOs, and business leaders selected the regional winners, according to EY.
Financial terms, growth metrics, or revenue figures for American Crane were not disclosed as part of the award announcement.
