PENNSYLVANIA — Handmade crafts, fresh produce, local honey and home-baked treats will fill participating Tractor Supply stores across Pennsylvania this weekend as the retailer turns part of its stores over to the people who grow, make and create in their communities.

Tractor Supply Company will hold its nationwide Harvest Fest on Sept. 12, inviting local farmers, makers, bakers and artisans to sell their goods during a four-hour farmers market-style event. Participating stores will host their own local vendors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Out Here, our neighbors grow, make, bake and build incredible things every single day,” Eric Jackson, vice president of marketing at Tractor Supply, said. “Harvest Fest is an opportunity to celebrate those talents and support local entrepreneurs.”

“Many of these makers shop our aisles every week, so it’s a privilege to showcase their hard work and celebrate the communities that make Life Out Here so special.”

What shoppers find will vary by location, but Harvest Fest vendors may offer handmade birdhouses, wind chimes, jewelry, crocheted goods and custom-forged knives. Food offerings can include homemade cakes, breads, hot sauce and popcorn, along with local honey, canned goods and fresh produce.

A Student-Designed Giveaway

This year’s festival also has a connection to FFA. The first 20 customers at each participating Tractor Supply store will receive a free limited-edition tote designed by FFA member Mia Harman of Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Harman created the winning design through a Tractor Supply contest held for FFA members earlier this year. Her “Rooted in Ag” design depicts livestock, produce and a barn.

The contest earned Harman a $250 Tractor Supply gift card and provided another $1,000 gift card to her FFA chapter for future projects.

For Pennsylvania shoppers, the event offers more than another reason to visit the local Tractor Supply. For four hours, participating stores will provide a marketplace where neighbors can meet the people behind locally produced food and handcrafted goods — and perhaps head home with something made much closer to home.
