HARRISBURG, PA — Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday has filed a lawsuit against Philadelphia-based Christina Hernandez Artistry LLC, which does business as Wandering Stardust Collective, alleging the company failed to deliver wedding photos and videos to consumers and refused to refund deposits, causing at least $75,000 in losses.
The lawsuit, filed in Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, alleges that the company and its owner, Christina Garcia, entered into contracts to photograph and record weddings but did not provide the promised images and videos to clients.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, Garcia also allegedly represented that she would personally photograph weddings but, in some cases, double- or triple-booked herself and canceled at the last minute, sending replacement photographers instead.
“A wedding day is one of the most precious and cherished moments in the lives of a couple, and this business darkened those days by neglecting appointments, then refusing to refund customers,” Sunday said. “With this lawsuit, we will fight for those clients to be made whole and that this photographer never again conduct business in the Commonwealth.”
The lawsuit seeks restitution for affected consumers and asks the court to permanently bar the defendants from owning, operating, managing or controlling a business that markets or sells goods and services in Pennsylvania.
The Attorney General’s Office is also seeking civil penalties of $1,000 for each alleged violation of Pennsylvania’s Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law and $3,000 for each violation involving a consumer age 60 or older.
Deputy Attorney General Kathleen M. MacFeeters filed the lawsuit on behalf of the Commonwealth.
