HARRISBURG, PA — A Luzerne County man was sentenced this week to four to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to 100 felony counts involving child sexual abuse material that investigators traced to his Plymouth home, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.
Donald George Long, 68, also must register as a sex offender for 15 years following his release, the Attorney General’s Office said.
The investigation began after the office’s Child Predator Section received a cyber tip involving uploads of child sexual abuse material, or CSAM. Agents traced an associated IP address to Long’s home, where prosecutors said he lived alone.
Investigators determined Long was using internet service registered to his deceased mother to access files, many depicting preteen children, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
Agents executed a search warrant at Long’s Plymouth residence last year and seized electronic devices. Long admitted viewing and saving the material, prosecutors said.
Long subsequently pleaded guilty to 100 felony counts of sexual abuse of children.
“This offender used his deceased mother’s internet service as a means to compile vile images and videos of very young children being abused,” Attorney General Dave Sunday said.
Deputy Attorney General Kimberly Moraski prosecuted the case.
