Vishay Secures CMMC Level 2 Status for Defense Contracts

Vishay Intertechnology

MALVERN, PA — Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has obtained Level 2 Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification, clearing a key compliance threshold for handling sensitive information in U.S. Department of Defense contracts and supply chains.

The certification allows Vishay to participate in programs requiring the processing, storage and transmission of Controlled Unclassified Information, or CUI, as the Defense Department phases cybersecurity requirements into contracts.

Vishay supplies electronic components used in defense, aerospace and national security applications. The designation could help the company preserve access to government work requiring verified cybersecurity controls and compliant information-sharing systems.

CMMC Level 2 covers protections for both CUI and Federal Contract Information. The framework is intended to confirm that contractors and suppliers meet Defense Department standards for safeguarding nonpublic program data.

Vishay’s certification validates controls including restricted-access systems, encrypted communications, secure file transfers, employee training and ongoing monitoring. It also covers documented processes for protecting information throughout the product lifecycle.

The company described the certification as important to maintaining supply continuity and reducing compliance risk for customers operating in defense and aerospace markets.
