MALVERN, PA — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has launched two innovative power inductors, the IHLL-1008AB-1Z and the IHLP-1008ABEZ-5A, designed to deliver superior performance in a significantly smaller footprint. These inductors, measuring 2.5 mm by 2.0 mm by 1.2 mm, provide the same performance as the previous models but with a 55% reduction in size.
The IHLL-1008AB-1Z offers inductance values ranging from 0.33 µH to 4.7 µH, with terminals plated at the bottom. This design allows for a compact board layout, improving space efficiency. Meanwhile, the IHLP-1008ABEZ-5A features bottom and side plating, facilitating a solder fillet that enhances mounting strength and simplifies joint inspection. Both inductors operate reliably at temperatures up to +165 °C, 10 °C higher than competing models, and offer a typical DCR as low as 12.0 mΩ, representing a 15% improvement.
These devices outperform ferrite-based alternatives with a robust powdered iron body that shields magnetically against crosstalk and eliminates air gaps. A soft saturation curve ensures stability across temperature and current ranges. The inductors’ flat wire coil contributes to low DCR and high current handling, enhancing reliability by eliminating the need for a lead frame.
Designed for diverse applications, the IHLP-1008ABEZ-5A is suited for automotive systems such as infotainment, navigation, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The IHLL-1008AB-1Z targets CPUs, SSD modules, and various consumer electronics, from audio equipment to medical devices.
With these introductions, Vishay confidently addresses the need for compact and efficient power solutions across a wide range of industries, advancing the capabilities of modern technologies.
