MALVERN, PA — The Institutes CPCU Society will bring insurance and risk management professionals to Las Vegas in October for a conference focused on artificial intelligence, cyber threats, climate risk and regulatory developments, underscoring the growing complexity facing the industry.
The organization’s annual In2Risk conference and CPCU Conferment ceremony will take place Oct. 19-21 and is expected to draw professionals from across the insurance, claims, underwriting and risk management sectors.
The agenda reflects several of the industry’s most pressing challenges, including the adoption of artificial intelligence, increasing cyber exposures, catastrophe-related losses, regulatory compliance requirements and rising loss severity.
As insurers and risk managers confront a rapidly evolving operating environment, the event will also feature sessions covering enterprise risk strategy, underwriting, ethics, talent development and emerging technology.
Spenser Villwock, executive director of The Institutes CPCU Society, described the conference as a venue where professionals can exchange practical knowledge and industry perspectives.
“Attendees learn directly from peers and industry leaders who understand the challenges, opportunities, and pace of change facing risk management and insurance professionals today,” Villwock stated.
A central component of the event will be the conferment ceremony recognizing newly credentialed CPCU professionals.
The CPCU designation is widely regarded within the insurance industry as a professional credential focused on insurance, risk management, ethics and leadership.
Elaine George, president and chair of the CPCU Society Leadership Council, characterized the ceremony as both a recognition of professional achievement and an opportunity for industry networking and knowledge sharing.
“Conferment of our newest CPCUs recognizes the work it took to earn the designation, while welcoming them into a professional community,” George stated.
The conference will conclude with a keynote presentation from Colin O’Brady, whose accomplishments include a solo, unsupported crossing of Antarctica.
The event is scheduled for Oct. 19-21 in Las Vegas.
