NEWTOWN, PA — EPAM Systems Inc. joined the OpenAI Partner Network as an Advanced Partner, expanding its enterprise artificial intelligence business with plans to train more than 5,000 consultants to help large companies deploy OpenAI models under security, compliance and governance requirements.
The Newtown-based technology services company (NYSE: EPAM) will use its engineering workforce to integrate OpenAI models into customers’ applications, data systems and operating workflows.
EPAM and OpenAI plan to develop specialized training for forward-deployed engineers, targeting more than 10,000 credentials during the first year.
The arrangement is aimed at Global 2000 companies seeking to move artificial intelligence projects beyond pilot programs and into core operations while addressing regulatory, cybersecurity and data-governance risks.
EPAM expects its teams to support deployments across customer service, marketing, sales and other business functions. The work will include integrating models with existing enterprise systems and establishing technical and governance infrastructure capable of adapting as OpenAI’s technology changes.
“The next era of enterprise AI isn’t about deploying models, it’s about applying strategic intelligence, and the right talent, to solve real business problems safely and at scale,” Elaina Shekhter, EPAM’s senior vice president and chief strategy and transformation officer, stated.
OpenAI Vice President Colleen Kapase framed EPAM’s engineering and transformation experience as a way to help companies move from experimentation to measurable operating results.
EPAM cited its work with German telecommunications provider 1&1 as an example of the approach. The company helped build an agentic AI platform that uses more than 20 intelligent agents to handle a portion of weekly customer calls.
The first production deployment was completed in less than three months, according to EPAM. The company did not disclose the project’s cost, the number of calls handled or quantified savings from the system.
Christian Neuroth, head of generative AI customer operations at 1&1, credited EPAM with helping deploy AI tools for telephone and digital customer support, with the goal of improving resolution speed and customer experience.
The partnership strengthens EPAM’s position in the market for enterprise AI implementation, where consulting and technology providers are competing to help corporate customers connect advanced models with proprietary data and production systems.
