CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The YMCA of Greater Brandywine has created a new senior executive position overseeing organizational culture, leadership development and enterprise risk management, naming Erin Clare Grayson as its inaugural senior vice president of culture and enterprise risk as the nonprofit expands its workforce and governance initiatives.
Grayson joins the YMCA’s senior leadership team with responsibility for leadership development, succession planning, workforce initiatives, enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness and organizational safety practices. She will also advise the organization’s leadership on culture, talent and governance matters.
The new position reflects the YMCA’s increased emphasis on employee engagement and organizational development as it advances strategic priorities across Chester County and surrounding communities.
YGBW employs more than 1,600 people and said it has been recognized as a Top Workplace for three consecutive years based on employee feedback. The organization said its workforce strategy focuses on professional development, employee retention and leadership advancement.
President and Chief Executive Officer Bertram L. Lawson II said Grayson’s background aligns with those priorities.
“Erin’s expertise in leadership development and culture-building strengthens our position as a leading employer in the region and further strengthens our ability to serve communities across Chester County and beyond with excellence,” Lawson said.
Before joining YGBW, Grayson served as senior manager of executive leadership at YMCA of the USA, where she led leadership development programs for executive directors and chief executive officers nationwide. She previously held chief-level leadership positions with local YMCA associations, including chief talent officer for the YMCA of Central New York.
Grayson also served as the founding chair of the Disability Community Resource Network, one of YMCA of the USA’s national employee resource groups.

Grayson holds a bachelor’s degree in youth development, with minors in YMCA professional studies, music and sociology, and a master’s degree in recreation management from Springfield College. She is certified as an Organizational Leader by YMCA of the USA and holds professional certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management, the Center for Creative Leadership, The Bigger Game Company, It’s All Made Up Inc. and The Heart Work Leadership Group.
